Planting
Planting radishes and thyme in a wine box and tin can.
The first breakfast
The first breakfast made with our backyard eggs.
Twinbrook chocolate milk in mason jars, sausage, biscuits, eggs, yogurt with granola and honey, strawberries and blueberries.
Morning
Finally we have some sunshine. Two nice days in a row this week; it always feels good to step outside in the morning on a day like this. Andy’s homemade wind chime brings Ocean Shores to our landlocked house. I believe it’s close to a year ago today that Andy and I drove to Ocean Shores and slept in the back of the pickup and called it ‘camping’. July 25th, Happy 13 month...

It’s This American Life. This week was a repeat.
One Step Closer
Now we’re one step closer to living on a farm. There are three hens living in the front yard, in a coop that Andy built on Saturday. They are still getting used to their new home, which I say is pretty nice! Only missing a roosting pole but not for long. After a few nights in their coop they’ll be free to roam the yard! I’m looking forward to collecting the first eggs!

An Introduction
Andy and I just started a new blog. Yay for puppy pictures. The war is on. Puppies vs. kittens.
olysdailypupdate:
June 15th we brought home Oly (oh-lee). As of right now he’s a 9 month old Border Collie (mix, but not with much. He’s mostly collie), weighing 31 lbs. This is our one treat, mostly to ourselves, to share all of his silliness.
Building
I changed my mind about summer. I don’t want shorts, tank tops, flip flops, or sunscreen.
Sheep Dogs
Border Collies were bred to herd sheep in the Scotland border country; to assist their shepherds in sorting and running them. Today we drove down to Gig Harbor, to Packleader Farms, to see if Oly could stand behind his Collie good looks and hold his own with some test sheep. It was a big success.
Some of the pasture, guarded by Anatolian Shepherds.

Saturday
Saturday: At home for a Snyder family cook out. Parents, sisters, dogs, drinks, lots and lots of food.
My Mom’s famous ‘Texas Corn Salsa’ recipe. The bowl was empty at the end of the night.
Lemonade and Sweet tea.
Andrew’s older sister katie.

Last Night's Dinner
Sauage and Brussel sprout stew
Sauage, onion, red pepper, garlic, mushroom, and brussel sprouts. With roasted sweet potato. Lots and lots of gravy.
On Dogs: Oly
A little more than 7 months ago I decided that I wasn’t afraid of dogs anymore thanks to seeing Dani’s dog Maci grow up into such a crazy sweet girl. In December I told Andy that I wanted a dog, even though the first time we pulled into his parent’s driveway I said wait, why is there a beware of dog sign?!?!?!?! So, after 6 months of research, financial planning,...
A year ago I was probably still wearing black leggings and a giant button up shirt. I was probably wearing a big green coat with a hood. I was probably sneezing my face off.
Now I am in a T-shirt and jeans, wearing little ked-style tennis shoes with white laces. Walking the dog at 6:20 in the sun, coming back to a house where I can eat baguette and salami for breakfast and watch the morning...
